Music Ministry
First English Lutheran celebrates a rich tradition of music by providing members the opportunity to participate in Adult Voice Choir or Hand Bell Choir. Everyone is welcome to join these groups.
The First English Lutheran Spirit of Hope band performs during the contemporary 10:30 am worship service. The band is made up of church members that use their instrument and voice talents to contribute to this unique service. The band is always open for new members.
Adult Voice Choir
The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. in the downstairs choir room under the direction of Dennis Sphatt, organist. The choir sings as scheduled at the 8:00 a.m. service, as well as for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Confirmation. Their gifts of vocal music make worship a meaningful and pleasant experience. Contact Dennis Sphatt at church, (920) 231-9890, if interested in adding your voice to the harmony.
Children’s Choir
We meet on Wednesdays, from 6:30-7. We have lots of fun—and we would like your children to join us!
Julie Kessler and Beth Sell are leading the choirs; both of them have extensive experience with children’s choirs at other churches.
Your children will have the opportunity to play some rhythm instruments and learn some sign language; we even found a set of children’s bells tucked away in a room upstairs that have been dusted off to use with the choirs!
You may contact Julie (910-508-1369), Beth (376-0935), or the church office (231-9890) for more information.
